XLI Corporation Adds Capacity and Reduces Lead Time
(Rochester, New York) To
meet increased customer demand for complex turned
products XLI Corporation today announced the purchase of
a new Doosan Puma TT 1800SY Multi-Axis CNC Turning
Center. The new work center increases the company’s
capacity for complex turned products by 25%.
“It’s all about meeting customer expectations,“
according to Frank LaPlaca, XLI Corporation Sales and
Marketing Manager. "Our customers need more product
faster. They have demanding requirements and tight
schedules with no margin for error. With the new machine
we can provide our customers with more capability,
productivity and flexibility. Lead times will be shorter
even as the quality of the product improves.”
"The Puma has a bar feed capacity of 2.560” (65mm) thru
the spindle. That’s larger than we had before. The twin
spindle, twin turret design allows high speed,
simultaneous machining and turning operations and allows
us to consider novel approaches to turned and machined
parts that were not possible before," LaPlaca continued.
"This is just one example of how we honor our commitment
to our customers to continuously improve our
manufacturing capabilities."
